Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending a meeting of the Charlotte Linux User’s Group – CharLUG. I had joined their mailing list the week before – something I had been meaning to do since I first heard about them late last year – and found they were looking for a new space to meet at. After some discussion, one of the members turned out to be president of the ACM student chapter at CPCC. He graciously offered to check on that as a meeting space, which seemed to revitalize the group.
At the meeting, we decided to move forward with a more defined structure and actually elect officers and the such. You can get all the gooey details at the CharLUG site, but I am helping as much as I can by doing some PR coordination for them. I already am doing it as president of CharJUG, this just helps get me off my keister.
